William James Guest Professorship
The William James Guest Professorship offers students of religion at Bayreuth a rare and distinguished opportunity without parallel in the field. Established through an agreement between the Free State of Bavaria and the University of Bayreuth, the professorship brings internationally recognised scholars to campus to teach and engage with students and researchers. Since its inception in the Summer Semester of 2007, it has regularly hosted visiting scholars, each exploring a distinctive theme that expands and enriches the department’s teaching.
