Degree Programmes

Our degree programmes reflect an innovative entanglement of the areas represented by the four professorships and their specific approaches. Our team ensures a well-grounded, internationally compatible education with a significant emphasis on student support.

We offer the following degree programmes (conducted in German):

Bachelor's Programme Study of religion as part of Culture & Society

Totalling six semesters, the bachelor’s programme offers the possibility to combine the Study of Religion with a second, subject area of your interest. The two chosen disciplines are bridged with specific courses that address transdisciplinary research questions. The programme also includes the opportunity of participating in exchange programmes to study abroad for one or two semesters.

Bachelor's Programme Interdisciplinary African Studies

Click here for the current course offerings.

Master’s Programme in African Studies: Critical Perspectives on Society, Politics, Culture

Master’s Programme in Religion and Global Futures

Studying “Religion and Global Futures” has many advantages: students benefit not only from our high quality teaching and research on global future-oriented research topics, but also from the close interaction between teachers and students. This programme will equip you with specialised knowledge and transferrable skills that are attractive to a wide range of employers in various professional sectors.

Minor in the Study of Religion (“Bachelor-Kombinationsfach”)
