Miriam Bittermann

My name is Miriam Bittermann. Since February 1st, 2021 I have been working as secretary within the Departement for the Study of Religion for Prof. Dr. Paula Schrode and Prof. Dr. Eva Spies.

After my education as "Eurokauffrau“ (industrial clerk and foreign language correspondent) at the Loewe Opta GmbH, I was working for many years in patent attorney and law firms.

Due to the current situation the secretariat is not manned every day. Urgent personal matters can be clarified on Wednesday between 08:30 a.m. and 04:00 p.m. Via phone you can reach the secretariat also on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday between 08:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

Andrea Göcer, M.A.

My name is Andrea Göcer. Since April 1st, 2021 I am research assistant at Prof. Dr. Paula Schrode’s department in religious studies with focus on contemporary Islam.

I have a MA in religious and cultural studies and a certificate in intercultural communication from Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich. In September 2016 I spend one semester abroad at Istanbul Bilgi University. At the University of Bayreuth I am going to do my doctorate dealing with Islamic religious instruction in Bavaria. In the summer semester 2021 you have the opportunity to get to know me at least virtually in my seminars 'Gender and Religion' and 'Human Rights in Islamic Discourse'.

Katharina Ziegler

My name is Katharina Ziegler. Since April 1st, 2021 I have been substituting for Verena Lauterbach, who is on parental leave at the moment, as a secretary at the Department for the Study of Religion (Prof. Dr. Christoph Bochinger) and at the Institute for Research of Contemporary Religious Culture.

After originally studying to be a special education teacher at the Julius-Maximilians-University in Würzburg, I have been working in the secretarial and administration area for over 10 years now. For the last 8 years I was employed as an executive assistant at a local software company.

Due to the current situation, the secretariat is not manned continuously. For urgent personal matters, I can be found in room GW II 1.13 every Wednesday between 08:30 a.m. and 04:00 p.m. For the remaining days I am happy to answer any questions via email or phone.
